Traditional Class A and Alternative Class A certification programs in Secondary Education (6-12) are available in

  • Foreign Language* (French, German, Latin, or Spanish)
  • General Science
  • General Social Science
  • Geography
  • History
  • Mathematics
  • Music Education (P-12)
  • Physics
  • Reading Specialist (P-12, traditional Class A only)

*For foreign languages, the Alternative Class A is available for Spanish only.

Overseas Program

Through the Office of International Programs, the department offers an Overseas MA program at the Westhill Institute in Mexico City for eligible overseas students only. The Overseas program is a non-certification program, and completion of the program does not lead to professional educator licensure or certification.

The Graduate Catalog is published annually.State-approved program checklists may be updated more frequently and are thus likely to provide the most up-to-date information about requirements.A current program checklist may be obtained from the program office. Students should consult their advisors each semester before registering.
